COLLECTING SEEDS MAKES CENTS
outdoors
Save for Spring
As you clean up your garden this fall, harvest
seeds of your favorite flowers. Dried-up flower
remnants often still contain seeds you can
remove with a vigorous shake. Collect them
and seal them in a jar for winter storage. Many
garden annuals and perennials are easy to grow
from seed, giving you a nearly unlimited, free
supply of them. Some seedlings will be nearly
identical to the parent, while others may be
slightly different. Either way, you’ll enjoy the
result. To learn more about saving seeds from
your garden, visit
